Dashboard Overview

Getting Started

Your Smarthost.MX dashboard is your central control panel for managing SMTP settings, sender addresses, and monitoring email delivery statistics.

Main Dashboard Sections:
  • SMTP Settings: Your SMTP server hostname and SPF record (custom for dedicated IP plans)
  • Send From Addresses: Manage and verify your sending addresses with SMTP credentials
  • Email Statistics: Monthly delivery metrics and performance data
  • Domain DNS Status: Quick overview of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC record status
  • Notifications: Alerts for plan limits or DNS configuration issues

SMTP Settings

SMTP Configuration Panel

The first card on your dashboard displays your personalized SMTP settings for configuring email clients and applications.

Standard Settings (Shared Plans):
  • SMTP Server: smtp.smarthost.mx
  • SMTP Port: 587
  • Encryption: STARTTLS/TLS
  • SPF Include: include:spf.smarthost.mx
Dedicated IP Plans:
  • Custom Hostname: Your personalized SMTP server hostname
  • Dedicated SPF: Your custom SPF record for improved deliverability
  • Enhanced Reputation: Isolated IP address for better sender reputation
  • Improved Control: Complete control over your sending reputation
Authentication Required

Use the SMTP Username and Password from your verified "Send From" addresses. Each sender address has unique credentials for security.

Configuration Tips:
  • Always use port 587
  • Enable STARTTLS encryption
  • Match "From" address to sender
  • Use unique credentials per sender

Send From Addresses Management

Managing Sender Addresses

Adding a New Address:
  1. Click "Add New Address" button
  2. Enter the email address you want to send from
  3. Click "Add Address"
  4. Check your email for verification message
  5. Click the verification link in the email
  6. Address status changes to "Verified"
Address Verification:

All sender addresses must be verified before you can send emails. This ensures you have permission to send from that address.

Address Status Indicators:
Verified Ready to send emails
Pending Awaiting email verification
Failed Verification failed or expired
SMTP Credentials:

Each verified address has unique SMTP username and password displayed in the table. Use these for authentication when sending.

Important: Keep your SMTP credentials secure and don't share them.

Email Statistics

Understanding Your Statistics

Available Metrics:
  • Emails Sent: Total emails processed this month
  • Successful Deliveries: Messages successfully delivered
  • Bounces: Messages that couldn't be delivered
  • Delivery Rate: Percentage of successful deliveries
  • Monthly Trends: Historical data comparison
Monthly Selection:

Use the dropdown menu to view statistics for different months. Historical data is available for all past sending activity.

Understanding Results:
90%+ Delivery Rate Excellent
80-89% Delivery Rate Good
<80% Delivery Rate Needs Attention
Tip: If your delivery rate is low, check your DNS configuration with our DNS Checker.

Domain DNS Status

DNS Record Monitoring

What You'll See:
  • Domain List: All domains from your verified sender addresses
  • SPF Status: Whether your SPF record includes Smarthost.MX
  • DKIM Status: Verification status of your DKIM records
  • DMARC Status: Policy and monitoring configuration status
  • Quick Actions: Links to DNS Checker for each domain
Status Indicators:
Good Record is properly configured
Needs Attention Record missing or misconfigured
Quarantine/Reject DMARC policy set but monitoring needed
Taking Action:
Records are configured correctly

Automatic Updates: DNS status is checked regularly and updated automatically. Click any button to use the DNS Checker tool for detailed analysis.
No Domains Listed?

Domains appear automatically when you add and verify sender addresses. Each verified address registers its domain for DNS monitoring.

Important: If you reach your plan limits, service may be suspended until you upgrade or wait for the next billing period.
